The project developed a number of credible scenarios for the future of the UK gas grid in a transition to a low carbon economy
AQUA was engaged to provide expert gas industry technical knowledge to inform the Climate Change Committee’s recommendations to government in the 6th carbon budget. The project developed a number of credible scenarios for the future of the UK gas grid in a transition to a low carbon economy, including two hydrogen conversion scenarios. An economic model was developed for each scenario, identifying the impacts on customers, investors and network owners to help identify the “least regrets” options as the UK transitions to a low carbon economy.
AQUA worked collaboratively with our project partners and key stakeholders to ensure robust recommendations were developed to help inform future government energy policy.
